Varsity Booters To Oppose Fitchburg Normal Saturday

Nine Lettermen, Six Players From 1932 Freshman Team on Varsity Squad

Preparing for the first Varsity soccer game Saturday with the Fitchburg State Teachers College, Coach Jack Carr has developed a well-balanced team from the nine returning lettermen and six very promising members of last year's Freshman outfit.

With the exception of the half-backs, the positions have all been assigned for Saturday's contest. Edward H. Robbins '35, George F. Stork '35, Delavan C. Clos '35, Melvin G. Grover '35, will make up the forward line with L. R. Maunheimer '36, at center. Captain William Wemple '34 and Richard Mr. Gummere '34 will play fullbacks with Jonathan E. England '33, at goal.

Due to the less of Revace B. B. Robinson '35, who fractured his leg in practice last week, and to the graduation of last year's two wing halfbacks, the most important line in the team must be filled with new men. Candidates for the three posts include John Dorman '36, captain of last year's Freshman team. Frank W. Vincent '36, and Richard C. Johnson '36.

If a Pair of good halfbacks can be developed, the Varsity team will be in fine condition for the game with Fitchburg Normal. In 1932 the Jayvees were heat, on 6-1 by this college, but it has since joined the Intercolegiate Soccer League and has been added to the Varsity schedule.
