ADAMS HOOPSTERS WIN IN CRUCIAL ENCOUNTER

Down Puritans 16-8 as Eliot, Kirkland, Lowell Win Other Games; Deacons Winthrop Take Boxing

Continuing their winning ways, the Adams basketeers trimmed a previously undefeated Puritan quintet 16 to 8 yesterday afternoon, maintaining an unbeaten record in their march toward the title.

In the other basketball games, Eliot took Dudley 17 to 12, Meyer starring, and in two walkaways the Deacons swamped Dunster 30 to 6 as George Stubbs rang up 14 points, and the Bell-boys stopped Leverett 30-7.

The second round of House boxing saw Kirkland outpoint the Adams pugilists 3 to 1, as Schnittger and Polansky functioned efficiently in the 135 and 155 pound classes and the 125 pound event was called off for lack of contestants. The Puritans edged Lowell 3 to 2.

Squash competition at this point finds the Goldcoasters occupying prominent places in three of the four leagues, as they lead in A and C, and trial Kirkland in second place in the class D tournament. The Lowell racquetmen are way out in front in class B, followed by Dunster and Eliot, who occupy second and third, and third and second, respectively in A and C league play.
