Harvard sophomore Dominic Moore was one of six forwards named to the New England Hockey Writers Association Men's Ice Hockey All-Star Team this past week.
Moore's 15 goals and 28 assists were first among Harvard scorers. He led the ECAC in short-handed goals with three and in game-winning goals with six. He was also the fourth-leading scorer in ECAC play.
Senior Hobey Baker finalists Brian Gionta of Boston Collge, Jeff Hamilton of Yale, and Ty Conklin of New Hampshire were also among the nominees. The Hobey Baker winner will be announced on Friday. Gionta placed second in the official fan voting which closed out last week.
UMass-Lowell sophomore Ron Hainsey headlined the defensemen named to the team. Hainsey recently signed with the Montreal Canadiens and was optioned to their Quebec AHL franchise. Hainsey was the fourth-leading scorer among the nation's defensemen this season and the 13th pick of the 2000 entry draft.
All of the New England All-Star selections will be formally recognized at an awards dinner in Saugus next Wednesday.
