PHILLIPS, ANDOVER, 18; EIGHTY-NINE, 3.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The freshmen were overwhelmingly defeated by the Phillips Academy nine, on Saturday. '89's regular first and third basemen did not play. The work of the freshmen battery was poor, and Bingham gave way to Downer at the seventh inning. For the freshmen, McPherson did the best fielding, and Clark the best batting. The Academy nine batted hard and fielded well, McNeil leading in both particulars. Aldrich pitched a good game, and was finely supported by Knowlton.
