The first debate after the recess was held last night in Sever 11. The question was: Resolved, That written examinations in Harvard University should be abolished. The affirmative was upheld by R. C. Davis '97 and L. L. Gillespie '98; the negative by W. E. Weaver '98 and R. T. Parke '98. Upon the merits of the debate, the audience was almost evenly divided, but decided for the negative.
