A special meeting of the senior class of Columbia College was held Thursday, Dec: 22, 1887. The question of having a Memorial was brought forward, and in the discussion it was suggested that the class should found an annual prize for a junior oratorical contest. It was proposed to subscribe $500 this year, and, by annual subscriptions, to increase the fund to $1,000. The matter was laid on the table.
Committees were appointed (1) to confer with like committees of the other classes, in regard to the plan for student representation in the government of the college; (2) to arrange for individual photographs of the class; and (3) to report whether improvements can be made upon the ordinary Commencement and Class-Day programmes.
