The 'varsity practice yesterday afternoon consisted of two games, each of 25 minutes' length; the first with '96, and the second with '95. During the first contest, Arnold, who was playing fullback on '96, broke his collar bone on a plunge into the centre.

The 'varsity eleven, as it played against '96, was about the strongest. Mackie played in his old place at guard for the first time this season, completing what is likely to be the final makeup of the line.

The 'varsity started in with a rush, and just six rushes sent Brewer across the line for the first touchdown. No goals were kicked. Ninety-six never made their requisite gain and as soon as the 'varsity got the ball they carried it quickly down the field again. Wrightington and Brewer made long gains round the ends. The defence of the 'varsity was splendid. The interference was ragged now and then, but a great improvement on the whole. Waters and Emmons were particularly good in blocking off. Wrenn played finely at quarterback, passing accurately and quickly, and following the backs better than at any time this year. It was a walk-over for the 'varsity and too easy to afford much practice beyond perfecting the interference.

The game with '95 was of an entirely different stamp. Only two of the men who played on the 'varsity in the first contest played again, and it was practically the second eleven. The two elevens were evenly matched, and not until the last part of the game did the 'varsity score. Whittemore and Jackson broke the line at almost every point, and the senior line held the 'varsity's advances well in check. Doucette was very strong at centre, while F. Shaw was slow and snapped the ball back poorly. The 'varsity had little or no interference and all the gains were the result of individual work. The only scoring was done by Manning, who secured a touchdown by a run of 40 yards around the left end. Foster's work at quarterback was good. The elevens lined up:

Ninety-Eight Eleven.The freshman football candidates lined up in two elevens yesterday afternoon and went through some hard practice. The inexperience of all the men was very prominent and Coach Forbes was often forced to stop the play and show the men their individual faults. The blocking off was very loose and the backs made futile attempts to follow the ragged interference. The men have not learned to tackle well and often catch the runner above the shoulders, which was a very prominent fault. The second eleven was managed well and made good gains through the first eleven's centre, which was especially weak. The team captained by Scott had the advantage at every point and made the greater number of touchdowns. The men were quick in getting to their places and played with more dash and snap than has been seen for some days.

NEW HAVEN, CONN., Oct. 24. - The Yale and B. A. A. elevens played a good game at the Yale Field this afternoon. A wet ball caused constant fumbling, but the visitors kept Yale from scoring for 18 minutes. The playing was fierce and Borden sustained a broken collar bone. Yale played a constant kicking game, punting the ball into Boston ground and forcing their opponents to rush it back by bucking the Yale centre, which often failed. Butterworth made all the three touchdowns and kicked a goal from the field. Murphy, Wade and DeWitt made the greatest runs for Yale and Dearborn and Mason made the best showing for the B. A. A. PRINCETON, N. J., Oct. 24. - The second football game between Lehigh and Princeton was played here today. The game was a one-sided contest and resulted 32 to O in favor of Princeton.

BRUNSWICK, ME., Oct. 24. - The Dartmouth football team played the Bowdoin eleven here today and won, 14 to 0, in a closely contested game.
