The success of the H. U. C. A. road race held Nov. 19 has decided the association to hold another race in December. The date will be fixed somewhere between the seventh and twelfth, when it is hoped the roads will be frozen and well smoothed down.
To encourage the sport a large number of prizes will be given and the handicaps will be liberal. The route will be partly a new one, starting at the Gymnasium, through Garden street, left Mason street, right Brattle street, right Lake View Ave. to Concord Ave., up this road to Belmont; through Pleasant street to Arlington, down North Ave., home. This will make the total distance just ten miles.
It is hoped there will be a large attendance as this is the first attempt at two fall races and there is every inducement for new riders to enter. A run will be held over the course this afternoon.
