The crews have been hard at work during the vacation. The 'varsity and freshman crews remained in Cambridge during the entire week, the latter rowing twice a day. The other crews were given two or three days off. On Wednesday the new shell that Davy has made for the sophomore crew was tried in the water. Although the advantages that were expected for the boat in the way that it set in the water were evident, certain defects appeared, especially in the steering, and these will probably be remedied in the shop.
