Freshman Baseball.

Yesterday the freshman baseball candidates practiced stopping grounders, sliding, and starting in the cage as usual. The outfielders were also given a little practice at catching flies outside. Weather permitting the squad will take their first outdoor practice either today or tomorrow, on Soldiers Field. The squad has not been much diminished as yet, but will probably be cut down soon after the out-door practice begins, when a temporary captain will be elected.

Manager Howe has not quite completed the schedule but has some good dates already arranged. The first game will be played April 11.
