CLASS RACES TODAY.

The Five Crews Competing will Row Down Stream at 12 O'clock.

The race to decide the class championship will be rowed down stream today at twelve o'clock. In the dual races last Monday no time was taken so that it is impossible to judge the comparative speed of the crews.

The Weld Law School crew is composed entirely of experienced oars and has three ex-University crew men. Their stroke is long and powerful and their boat moves well between strokes. The order and weights: Stroke, Snite, 160; 7, A. DuBois, 163; 6, H. Bancroft, 188; 5, Wood, 175; 4, Shepard, 162; 3, Morrill, 157; 2, Davis, 167; bow, Holt, 140; cox., Kelly.

The order of the Weld Sophomore crew has been unchanged since the beginning of the season. As a result their work is smoother and more regular than that of the other crews. The bow men have a tendency to shorten when the stroke is high, but this is hardly noticeable. Stroke, G. Bancroft, 163; 7, Ladd, 183; 6, Shuebruk, 179; 5, Emory, 168; 4, Colby, 174; 3, Grew, 172; 2, Brooks, 163; bow, Covel, 159; cox., Boothby.

The Newell Senior crew has suffered more from changes than any of the others, but since it has had the present order, the crew has improved rapidly. The stroke is very even and has a good beat. The chief fault is a tendency to swing out of the boat. Stroke, Harding, 160; 7, Higginson, 155; 6, Fitzgerald, 160; 5, Biddle, 172; 4, Gale, 170; 3, Gray, 162; 2, Byrd, 163; bow, Bolling, 138; cox., Goodrich.

The Newell Juniors have individually probably the strongest crew on the river and with the exception of stroke have all had considerable experience. Gerrish at stroke is a new man but has done exceedingly good work so far. Stroke, Gerrish, 160; 7, Lawrence, 179; 6, Gilchrist, 176; 5, McConnell, 170; 4, Peyton, 188; 3, Henderson, 170; 2, Cunningham, 161; bow, Hawkins, 158; cox., Howe.

The Sophomore Newell is the lightest of the five crews but the men row with a great deal of life. Their outboard work is ragged at times and the boat is not always on an even keel, although it moves well between strokes. Stroke, Brownell, 152; 7, Goodell, 163; 6, Bullard, 160; 5, Platt, 178; 4, R. Lawrence, 180; 3, Merritt, 158; 2, Atkinson, 164; bow, Morris, 168; cox., Jackson.
