The Lacrosse Trip.

Of the four games played by the lacrosse team during its southern trip, three were lost and one was tied. The showing made by the squad, however, was not so unfavorable as this would seem to indicate, because new men only were taken on the trip, and also because in the game with Johns Hopkins University three players were unable to play on account of injuries. The score in this game was 11 to 1. The game with Stevens Institute was tied, the score being 5 to 5. Swarthmore won by a score of 8 to 3, and the Crescent A. C. by a score of 5 to 4, in a well contested game. Credit for the close score is due to Harvard's excellent defensive work.

On the basis of the work done during the trip, a University team will be picked this week, and on Saturday will play the first regular game of the season with the College of the City of New York. Four of last year's team will join the squad soon in order to be in condition for later games.
