It was officially announced during the vacation that Yale has received a large collection of Egyptian antiquities as the annual donation from the Egypt exploration fund, and representing Connecticut's share in that fund for the current year.

The swimming and water polo teams have begun work in the tank at the gymnasium. A schedule will be arranged comprising trips to Boston, New York and perhaps to Chicago. The first game will be played at the New York Athletic Club on January 17.

The donor of Kirtland Hall, the new laboratory for the scientific school, has just been announced as Miss Lucy Boardman of New Haven. The new laboratory is in honor of the late Professor J. P. Kirtland of Ohio.

The row of houses on the left side of Wall street has been torn down to make way for the new Sheffield dormitory given by Mr. Vanderbilt. Ground has also been broken for Kirtland Hall and work is going forward on the foundations.

The dual gymnastic meet with Columbia will be held February 6.
