HARVARD WINS AT HOCKEY

The University hockey team, in its second game of the intercollegiate series, defeated Columbia on Saturday night at the St. Nicholas Rink, New York, by a score of 5 goals to 1. The game, although one sided in its final result, was well contested, the score standing 3 to 1 at the end of the first half. In the second half, however, Harvard scored twice more and successfully blocked all their opponents efforts to shoot.

The Harvard forwards for the most part played well together and showed improvement in shooting and following back toward Columbia's goal. By their good work in the latter respect, Columbia was seldom able to get well advanced toward the Harvard goal. The defense, too, proved in general more formidable than heretofore, with the possible exception of Clothier, who did not cover his position as well as usual.

Columbia's play was almost entirely of an individual nature, her only goal being made on a long chance shot from the middle of the ice by Akin. H. Duden and Wolff, however, played a very aggressive game.
