The University Whist team won the intercollegiate championship on Saturday through defeating Columbia by a score of 19 to 0 in the final round of the tournament held in New York. In the preliminary round played on Friday the University team defeated Yale by a score of 5 to 3. The teams which played on Saturday were made up as follows:
Harvard--A. C. England, captain, V. K. Keesey, C. W. Barry, G. B. Kerper.
Columbia--G. A. Ellis, Captain, B. V. Moore, R. M. Putzel, W. E. Thompson.
At a meeting of the teams held before the tournament an intercollegiate whist association was formed with the following officers: President, C. L. Joy, Yale; vice-president, V. K. Keesey, Harvard; secretary, W. E. Thompson, Columbia.
