The University baseball team defeated Exeter at Exeter yesterday in a slow six-inning game, by the score of 11 to 0. Harvard batted listlessly, making only ten hits against a substitute pitcher, in the field the playing was more creditable. Five of the seven runs made were the direct result of errors by Exeter's infield, which was not of even average ability. Coburn pitched well, allowing but three hits, and striking out twelve men. Kernan was very steady in his catching, but was weak at the bat. Clarkson led the team in batting making two-base hits.

In the first inning, Randall was given a base on balls, was advanced to second on Clarkson's two-base hit, and scored together with Clarkson on Stillman's hit. The next scoring came in the third inning, when Randall reached second on a two-base hit, and was advanced to the plate on an error by Evans. Three more runs were made in the fourth inning on three successive errors by Cenedella, and another followed in the fifth, when Coburn reached first on a base on balls, stole second, and reached the plate on Rider's error, and Matthews's hit. Hits by Clarkson, Skilton and Coburn together with two more errors by Exeter gave Harvard, four more runs in the sixth, when the game was called to allow the team to catch the train for Boston.
