1909 WON BASKETBALL

Defeated Seniors in Final Game, 29 to 6.--University Squad Out Today.

In the final game of the interclass basketball series, played Saturday afternoon, the Sophomores won the class championship by defeating the Seniors by a score of 29 to 6. Both teams played a listless game in the first half, the score at the end of the period being 9 to 3 in favor of 1909. In the second half, however, the Sophomores completely outplayed their opponents. Their team work was fast and well directed and their defence was excellent. Currie's basket shooting was especially effective.

All the men who played for the Sophomores in the interclass series will receive their class basketball insignia, and cups will be given to the following: E. S. Allen, E. S. Currie, C. Deane, W. H. Dial, R. V. White.

University Basketball Practice.

Regular practice for the University squad will begin in the Gymnasium at 7.15 o'clock this evening, and will continue every evening during the week from 7.15 to 8.30. The Freshman team will practice from 8.30 to 9.30. Practice will be resumed after the vacation on Thursday evening, January 3.
