The University basketball team was defeated by Brown last evening in the Gymnasium by the score of 15 to 10. The game was uninteresting at first because of the listless work of both teams; but in the second half, more life was put into the play and the result was in doubt until the last minute, when Brown scored two goals from the floor in quick succession. The University team showed the effects of the game with Tufts and was not up to its standard, being especially weak in shooting and passing, while Brown displayed unexpected strength.

Brown scored first on a goal from the floor by Pryor. This was followed by three more by Seidler, while for the University team Currie threw one basket from the floor and one from a foul. About the middle of the second half the University team tied the score on a basket by Browne and three goals from fouls by Currie. The play then became very fast, but just before the close of the game, Brown drew ahead by good teamwork and shooting. Currie played well for Harvard, while Pryor and Seidler excelled for Brown.

The summary follows:

Score--Brown, 15; Harvard, 10. Goals from floor--Seidler 4, Pryor 2, Allen, Currie, Brown. Goals from fouls--Currie 4, Swaffield 3. Referee--W. McGrail, Dartmouth '06. Timekeeper--W. M. Bird '08.
