Freshmen to Play Rindge at 3.30

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman hockey team will play the first game of its regular schedule with Rindge Manual Training School this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock in the Freshman rink in the Stadium.

As was plainly shown in the Noble and Greenough game yesterday afternoon, the Freshman team has developed no concentrated attack, and the shooting is weak and inaccurate. So far the forwards have failed to follow back properly to support the defence, and they seem to lack endurance.

The two teams will line up as follows: HARVARD 1913.  RINDGE M. T. Pratt, l.e.  r.e., Webb Locke, l.c.  r.c., Green Rushmore, r.c.  l.c., Fitz Palmer, r.e.  l.e., Hubbard Booth, c.p.  c.p., Kinsley Graustein, p.  p., Baker Gardner, g.  g., Anderson

Cut in Freshman Squad.

Owing to the difficulty of coaching a large squad it was necessary to drop all except fifteen of the candidates for the Freshman hockey team. The following men have been retained: N. H. Baldwin, Batchelder, Booth, Copeland, Francis, Gardner, Graustein, Locke, Paine, Palmer, Pratt, Rushmore, Tebbetts, Tomes, Wendell.

1913 Won Practice Game, 2 to 1.

The Freshman hockey team won its practice game yesterday afternoon, defeating Noble and Greenough's School by the score of 2 to 1. The victory of the Freshmen was due almost entirely to the individual excellence of the players, who repeatedly were able to carry the puck the length of the rink only to lose it by poor passing or inaccurate shooting. The visitors made the first goal on a pass from Grant, who had carried the puck the entire length of the rink. Shortly afterward the Freshmen scored from a scrimmage in front of their opponents' goal. The second score for the Freshmen came in the middle of the second half.

Palmer and Rushmore played well for 1913, each obtaining one goal. For Noble and Greenough Grant played a hard, fast game, several times carrying the puck the length of the rink.

The summary: HARVARD 1913.  NOBLE AND GREENOUGH. Pratt, Francis, l.e.  r.e., Williams Locke, Baldwin, l.c.  r.c., Claflin Rushmore, r.c.  l.c., DeFord Palmer, r.e.  l.e., Grant Booth, c.p.  c.p., Lyman Graustein, Wendell, p.  p., Storer Gardner, g.  g., Converse

Score--Harvard Freshmen, 2; Noble and Greenough, 1. Goals--Rushmore, Palmer, Claflin. Referee--R. E. Dole '10. Timekeeper--S. T. Hicks '10. Time--15-minute halves.
