CHANGES IN FIRST EIGHT

Meyer at Bow, Waite at 2.--Chanler to Stroke Freshman Crew Today.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Two changes were made in the University eight eight yesterday. Meyer taking Balch's place at bow, and Waite replacing Stratton at 2. The boat was unsteady and the blade work of the port side was still poor. The other crews maintained the same order as on the previous day. The change in the University boat are being made to try out several promising men from the second crew.

Chanler, who has been in the second Freshman boat on account of probation, will be put in the first crew today, a change which is expected to eliminate the present weakness at stroke. The second Freshman eight was sent out of the first time yesterday.

The ice has melted sufficiently to allow all the crews to go down into the basin, where Coach Wray superintended the work from a single.

The order of the University crew was as follows: stroke, Goodale; 7, Cutler; 6, Strong; 5, Withington; 4, Newton; 3, Metcalf, Hopper; 2, Waite; Stratton; bow, Meyer, Balch; cox., C. Abeles.

Second crew.--Stroke, Eager; 7, Morgan; 6, Nelson; 5, Beane; 4, L. D. Smith; 3, Anderson; 2, G. Cutler; bow, Wiggins; cox., Hay.

Third crew.--Stroke, Richardson; 7, P. D. Smith; 6, Weston; 5, Leslie; 4, Lincoln; 3, Hoar; 2, Sullivan; bow, Peabody; cox., A. Abeles.

Freshman crew.--Stroke, Curtis; 7, Mills; 6, Morgan; 5, Storer; 4, Converse; 3, Gardiner; 2. Crombioe; bow, Reynolds; cox., Roosevelt.
