Value of Harvard Flying Corps Recognized by War Department

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Frazier Curtis '98, Commanding Officer of the Harvard Flying Corps, has received a letter from the War Department at Washington praising the aims of the newly founded corps. In part, the letter is as follows:

"I am directed by the Chief Signal Officer of the Army to state that he greatly appreciates the patriotic endeavors of the Harvard Flying Corps. It is impossible to state just what can be done by the War Department in the future along the lines indicated by the purpose of the corps, as it depends entirely on what provisions are made by Congress.

"It is regretted also that on account of the present conditions, it is not possible to detail an aviation officer for duty to command the Harvard Flying Corps. "Signed,   "GEORGE G. GIBBS,   "Captain, Signal Corps."
