At a meeting of the Freshman soccer squad yesterday afternoon, Charles Edward Masters '21, of Newton Centre, was elected captain of the 1921 team. Masters prepared at Worcester Academy where he played on the soccer team.
The first Freshman game of the season will take place on Soldiers Field this afternoon when 1921 will meet a team representing Worcester Academy. The Freshman squad of 17 men has been practicing for nearly three weeks under the coaching of F. C. Dimond '19, captain of the University team.
Ford Hibbard '20, of Brooklyn, N. Y., has been appointed manager of both University and Freshman teams. He is at present arranging a schedule for the Freshmen. It is probable that Andover will be played November 24, although the place of the game has not been decided.
The following Freshmen will make up the team which meets Worcester this afternoon: F. Beidler, G. N. Carpenter, E. J. Damon, R. E. Henderson, S. S. Jordan, C. E. Masters, R. W. Powers, W. L. Pyle, E. O. Richards, C. P. Smith, and H. M. Spelman.
