The number of students who registered at the University Thursday was 2,502, which is 500 in excess of the preliminary estimate. Registration will be continued for a few days; and it is expected that this number will be somewhat increased, as many former students have not yet been released from the service. The final registration figures will be ready by the end of next week.

The University is now running on a purely academic basis. There are no students at the University now under military instruction. This is a condition which has not existed since January, 1916, when the University Regiment was established under Captain (now Colonel) Cordier.
