LEE WADE COMPETITION BEGINS

Address by Winter Wednesday--Browning Poem Selected for Declamation.

Rules governing the annual competition for the Lee Wade II prizes will be outlined Wednesday evening, when Professor I. L. Winter '86 will speak to all candidates in Holden Chapel at 6.45 P. M. These prizes founded in 1915 by Dr. Francis Henry Wade, of Cambridge, in memory of his son Lee Wade 2d '14, and are awarded for merit in reciting a selection of poetry. For first, second and third places, prizes of 25, 15 and 10 dollars respectively are given.

The selection for this year will be the poem by Robert Browning entitled "How, They Brought the Good News from Ghent to Aix." Preliminary trials will he held Wednesday, March 12, and from these candidates will be chosen for the final contest. The number selected for the finals depends on the quality of the speakers.

The competition is open to all regularly enrolled members of the three upper classes, unclassified and out-of-course students being ineligible. The names of all candidates must be given to Professor Winter on or before Wednesday at 6.45 P. M.
