Malcolm Bradlee '22 and R. E. Smith '22 Victors--Semi-Final Round to be Played Next Monday

Malcolm Bradlee '22, captain of the first University squash team, reached the semi-final round of the College tournament yesterday when he easily defeated J. T. Bradlee '22. The latter was no match for last year's champion, who won in straight games, the score being 15-7, 15-10, 15-11. In the semi-finals Bradlee will play Carroll Harrington '24.

In the other fourth round match played yesterday, R. E. Smith '22 barely won from E. M. Hinkle '23 in a hard-fought contest. Both are members of Team A, and the match was featured by long rallies. Hinkle did not seem sure of himself at first, but made a recovery after losing two games. From that time on the result was in doubt until the very end. The final score was; 15-8, 15-9, 15-17, 12-15, 15-12. Smith's next opponent will be Myles P. Baker '22.

Due to the proximity of the match with the Union Boat Club, the semifinal round will not be played until next Monday, January 30.

The Massachusetts State Tournament will begin this afternoon at the Tennis and Racquet Club of Boston. Fifteen members of the University have entered.
