"Harvard will give Yale a good race next June," Coach Stevens said recently, "But as for winning, I am very skeptical. Ed Leader has a system at Yale, tested by a year's experience and rowed for at least a year by all men eligible for the Eli University crew this spring. It is this year's experience under Leader's system whch gives Yale a great advantage. Harvard crew men must do a great deal more work than Eli oarsmen in order to meet the latter on equal terms this June".
The Yale A crew, now rowing in New Haven harbor while the Crimson remains indoors because of the failure of the Charles to clear of ice, has five 1923 letter men on it, and two more are in college, busied with winter sports.
