The University polo team will leave at noon today for its initial contest in the National Indoor Inter-collegiate Polo tournament, to be played in New York City tomorrow night with Yale as their opponents. Having drawn a bye in the first round, the game tomorrow night is listed as the semi-finals, and the winner will engage the victorious trio from the lower bracket in the finals Saturday evening, March 22.
Although the University horsemen were defeated by the championship Eli team in a contest earlier in the season, the margin was but a half point for Yale. Since that time there has been a marked improvement in the team play, and Captain S. F. Clark is extremely optimistic over the chances for his proteges tomorrow night.
This will be the first time the University has engaged in an inter-collegiate polo tournament.
