"SCIENCE AND CIVILIZATION" IS BERTRAND RUSSELL'S THEME

English Essayist to Make First Boston Lecture at Ford Hall Tonight

The Honorable Bertrand Bussell, distinguished publicist, essayist, and scientist, will make his first appearance in Boston at Ford Hall, at 8 o'clock tonight. His subject will be "Science and Civilization." Professor Bliss Perry, Professor of English Literature, will preside.

Mr. Russell is known throughout the world for his contribution to mathematics, philosophy, and social science. He was a lecturer and sometime Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, England, from which the graduated. In 1914 Mr. Russell was a special Professor of Philosophy at Harvard. In 1920-21 he served as Professor in the Pekin Government University. It was while in this latter position that his articles on the political, social, and economic-future of China, and the Orient started the whole world. The official attitude of the governments of the world towards China lias radically changed since then.
