TWO SQUASH TEAMS WIN IN SATURDAY MATCHES

Team B Defeats St. Paul's as Freshmen Conquer Newton--Both Win Easily by 4-1 Scores

Two squash teams gained 4-1 victories Saturday afternoon, Team B defeating St. Paul's while the Freshmen won from the Newton Club in a Class C league match.

Lenhart, Haskins, and Pease were hard pressed by St. Paul's, but although carried to five games, they all came out on top. Finley at number 1 won from Gillespie without being pressed and Perkins succumbed to the hard playing of Debevoise of St. Paul's.

The summary of the Team B match follows:

J. H. Finley Jr. '25 defeated Gillespie, 3-1; P. M. Lenhart '27 defeated Geissler, 3-2; L. S. Haskins '26 defeated Phippe, 3-2; P. R. Pease '26 defeated Cook, 3-2; Debevoise defeated G. H. Perkins '26, 3-1.

LeBaron Defeats Poole

J. L. Poole, playing at number 1, was the only Freshman to suffer defeat, losing to A. L. LeBaron of the Newton Club in four long-drawn-out games. G. T. Francis and W. C. Peet both ran into difficulty in their matches, winning in five games by narrow margins. The summary follows:

LeBaron defeated J. L. Poole '28, 15-11, 16-13, 17-18, 15-11; G. T. Francis '28 defeated Wellman, 13-16, 15-4, 12-15, 15-12, 15-11; W. C. Peet '28 defeated Holbrook, 12-15, 15-11, 15-12, 13-15, 15-8; E. S. Melcher '28 defeated Cryan, 15-7, 17-14, 16-13; J. C. Reuter '28 defeated Schofield, 15-10, 15-10, 15-10.
