West Point, N. Y., Oct. 17--Light workouts in all departments of play were the rule in this afternoon's football practice at the United States Military Academy.

Coach Jones ordered a signal drill for his charges after which they went through a series of dummy scrimmages in which the defense against Harvard passes and running plays was stressed.

Sprague, captain and veteran 214 pound tackle, devoted a part of his time to kicking with Murreli and Cagie, the regular cadet booters. It is possible that he may share the punting burden with his two teammates in Saturday's encounter against the Crimson.

Squad in Good Shape

The physical condition of the squad is excellent, and all of the men with one or two possible exceptions will be ready for action by the end of the week. Allan, a halfback, has been showing up to advantage in this week's practice sessions and may be in the lineup Saturday afternoon. The tackle to tackle group consisting of Perry, Sprague, Hall, Hammack, and Dibb is intact. These men average 191 pounds and are expected to use their bulk to advantage in halting the Crimson attack Saturday afternoon.

Coach Jones is putting fourth every possible effort to back the jinx of thirteen defeats which the West Pointers have suffered at the hands of the Crimson in the past.

The squad, numbering 43 players, 14 coaches, and then handlers will arrive in Boston tomorrow evening, proceeding directly to the Belmont Springs Country Club which is to be the squad's headquarters during its stay in Cambridge. Any of the staff for whom there is no room in the Country Club will have accomodations at the Hotel Sheraton in Boston.

At 3 o'clock Friday afternoon the cadets will try the turf and currents of the Stadium in a light workout, after which they well return to their quarters until game time Saturday
