TEAM HAS BRIGHT HOPES FOR BROWN COMBAT SATURDAY

Turns Out in White Shirt But Is Likely To Be on Bench With Crickard--First String Not Seriously Weakened

Harvard's hopes for a win in the coming clash with Brown rose slightly yesterday afternoon when it became known that Wells, Esterly, Crane, and Whitney would all be in shape for Saturday's game.

Crickard is still unlikely to start next Saturday, and although Grady was Jogging around in a white shirt yesterday, it is also doubtful whether he will be in condition before next week. Francisco is now definitely out of the coming battle with the Bruins, while Schumann and Casale are uncertain of a place in the game. All in all, it is more in the reserves that Harvard is hit than in the first string players.

The Varsity squad was run through a stiff 20-minute scrimmage against Brown plays put on by the Seconds yesterday. A long drill on fundamentals won followed by another hard session on pass defense, and as a light mist hung over the field, the white ball was brought out at the end of the practice to finish off with a long signal drill.

Harvard coaches are looking forward to a tough game this weekend, when Brown returns to the Stadium for the first time in five years. Coach McLaughry of the Bruins has the best team in sight since the famous Brown "Iron Men" of 1926. The starting eleven against the Crimson averages about 185 pounds, thus conceding Harvard little in the way of tonnage. Bob Chase, 162-pound left half-back, is the man around whom practically the whole Bruin attack, both passing and running, is built; and so far he and his teammates have maintained an undefeated record.

The lineups:

Team A--Nazro, l.e.; Hardy, l.t.; Healey, l.g.; Hallowell, Casey, c.; Gundlach, r.g.; Bancroft, r.t.; Hageman, Bartol, r.e.; Wells, q.; Dean, f.b.; Nevin, r.h.b; Pescosolido, Locke, l.h.b.

Team B--Cassedy, l.e.; Rogers, l.t.; Cullen, l.g.; Lockwood, c.; Scott, r.g.; Kidder, r.t.; Lowe, r.e.; Peter, q.; Waters, f.b.; Gleason, r.h.b.; Sherman, l.h.b.
