At an early hour this morning Boston returns complete except four precincts gave Roosevelt 177,892 votes to Hoover's 76,398, a lead of 101,494 for the Democratic candidate. In 1928, 362 precincts gave Smith a plurality of 98,835 in the election.

In the gubernatorial race, Boston gave Ely 180,353 ballots, Youngman 73,815, a majority of 106,538.
