TEMPLE WILL DELIVER TWO NOBLE ADDRESSES

Archbishop of York Lectures on Task and Nature of Church in Memorial Church Tomorrow Evening

The Most Reverend William Temple, Archbishop of York, will deliver the annual William Belden Noble lectures tomorrow and Wednesday evenings at eight o'clock in the Memorial Church. The lectures will be open to the public.

Tomorrow night Dr. Temple will speak on "The Nature and Task of the Christian Church" and his subject Wednesday will be "Christian Theology and Modern Thought."

Oxford Student

As a student in Oxford i n 1904, he was president of the Union. Following graduation, he was a Fellow and Lecturer in Philosophy at Queens College, Oxford until 1910. After holding various offices in the church, he became Bishop of Manchester in 1921 and Archbishop of York in 1929.

Dr. Temple is the author of many well-known religious works, including "Christianity and the State," "Essays in Christian Politics," and "Faith and Modern Thought."
