LOWELL LEADS LEAGUE IN HOUSE SPORTS RACE

Precariously perched on the top of the House ladder at the close of the winter sports competition, the bellboys, with a grand total of 736 1/2 points to date, are leading Kirkland by a slim five point margin, Adolph W. Samborski, Director of Intramural Athletics, announced yesterday.

Participants in the House sports program during the fall and winter numbered close to 1,000, he said, almost as many took part during the entire year 1936-37.

Eliot is close behind the leaders with 713 points, followed by Leverett and Winthorp with 595 with 579 1/2 points respectively. Adams with 551 1/2, Duster with 492 1/2, and Dudley with 470 complete the list.

Points are awarded on a basis of 50 points for each major sport team entered and 35 points for each minor. Additional points are awarded according to standing at the close of competition in each sport. Samborski explained.

Participation has shot up over last year's levels in every winter sport except swimming, which showed a slight decline from 109 to 103 Competitors.
