Harvard Rooters to Hold Football Rally This P.M.

For the second time in a decade, undergraduates will today stage a mass rally for the football team. Exactly one year age the first rally was held following a series of one-sided defeats; on the next day Harvard reached the turning point of the season, defeating Princeton 26-7.

This afternoon's rally precedes the Varsity's departure for Princeton, where the Crimson will be underdogs by heavy odds following the Penn and Dartmouth defeats. Coach Dick Harlow reaffirmed his faith in his slow-starting, largely Sophomore eleven Saturday. This afternoon the undergraduate body is expected to reaffirm its faith in the team in front of Dillon Field House.

Route of Parade

Starting at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon, the band will assemble in the Yard and lead students to Soldiers Field. From the Yard the torch-light parade will march down Plympton Street to Mill Street, continue to the Winthrop House gate, out on to Memorial Drive, and across the bridge to the field.

Lighted by flares, the rally will be held out of doors this year, unless rain forces the crowd into the Briggs Cage. On the steps of Dillon Field House will be seated the squad, coaches, and the speakers.

For the short speeches over the public address system John M. Atherton '40, team manager, will introduce Bill Bingham, Director of the H.A.A.; Dick Harlow; Captain Torbie Macdonald; and Tack Hardwick; ardent alumnus and football enthusiast.
