HARRIERS TO OPPOSE B. U,

The curtain goes up on the official cross country season at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon when both the Varsity and Freshman runners journey to Riverside to take on Boston University in the first race of the season for both squads.

Not much is known about the Terrier team this year or about how many men have returned from last year's squad, which the Crimson swamped, taking the first five places.

Racing against B. U. in a seven man team instead of the usual 10 man combination will be Bob Houghton, Bob Kent, Bill Palson, Fred Phinney, John Sopka, Bob Jay, and Tom McElligott, according to a tentative lineup announced yesterday by Coach Mikkola.

Informal Second Team Race

Varsity reserves will be Joe Scott, Will Dalrymple, and Jack Jillson, with the rest of the Varsity and Freshmen running in an informal second team affair which will not count on the first team score.

All men expecting to compete will leave Dillon Field House at 3 o'clock dressed for the race this afternoon. As soon as they arrive at the Riverside course, the second team affair will begin, followed immediately by the Varsity.

On the basis of last year's sweeping victory, the Crimson forces will be favored today. But due to the unknown quantity of both teams, Coach Mikkola stated last night that anything is likely to happen.
