Following the recent shortening of the final examination period by University authorities, the Dean's Office announced yesterday the revised tentative schedule.
Dean Phelps' statement is as follows:
"The tentative revised schedule for the 18 examination groups is given below. Further changes may be necessary. In particular, certain courses may, on request of the instructor, be moved from the time set for their examination group to some other time. The official schedule will be posted on the bulletin boards after the April recess.
"Candidates for degrees this June who are not trying for honors must take final examinations in all their courses, including those in their fields. Honor candidates in some Departments may be given an option between an hour examination, or other appropriate test, to be held after the April recess, and the final examination in a course.
"The Department or Committee in charge of the student's field of concentration must be consulted about the details of this arrangement, which vary considerably among the different departments. Instructors in courses cannot excuse Senior honor candidates from final examinations; this must be arranged through the authorities in the student's field of concentration."
