Lampy Plans Parody on PM

Annual Poon Expose Is Due in Two Weeks

Robert C. Benchley '42, president of the Lampoon, has announced that the humor magazine will parody the newspaper PM this year in a issue expected to be out within the next two weeks.

With a format close to that of the revolutionary New York tabloid-crusader, the Poon will crusade for many improvements in society. One of the main objects of attack and exposure will be the Law of Diminishing Returns, which the parody issue will demand be repealed.

A crusade will be conducted against inflamable collars, as well. Reason for the attack on the non-fire-proof neckwear will relate to the war: 'Poon editors feel that if a soldier, wearing an inflammable collar is shot in the neck, he may well suffer from severe burns.

Last year's parody was on "Time" magazine featuring a portrait of President Conant on the cover as the "Man of the Year." Also included was a map showing Memorial Hall as the bulls-eye of Hitler's bombing range, with the caption "given by Harvard University."
