Advisers Will Help '46 With Enlisted Reserve Problems

Freshmen Advised To Apply Quickly

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Elliott Perkins, head of the University's War Service Information Bureau, announced yesterday that the Harvard quota for the Army Enlisted Reserve was strictly limited, and that students intending to enlist should not delay in filling out their applications.

At the same time, he revealed that an adviser has been appointed in each House to discuss V-1 and Enlisted Reserve problems with Freshmen and other interested students, emphasizing that undergraduates should not come to University it for applications before they had talked the matter over thoroughly with these Faculty men. The names of the V-1 and Enlisted Reserve advisers will be announced next week.

November 1 Deadline for V-1

November 1 has been made the deadline by Navy authorities for registration by members of the class of 1944 and 1945 in V-1. This means that Sophomores will not have their entire second year in which to enroll, as had previously been the case.

Members of the present Freshman class must enlist in V-1 before the end of their first term in Harvard. Thus men entering College this summer should enroll before the end of the second session, and '46 members registering this fall should enroll by next Mid-years.

At the same time, Perkins stated that there will be a meeting of all Freshmen considering V-1 next Monday, at 7 o'clock in Phillips Brooks House, before the assembly sponsored by the War Service Committee. Lt. William R. Fry, USN, will describe the program and will show a film prepared for V-1 by the Navy.

Further Dope in Confy Guide

Freshmen and Sophomores interested in the V-1 and V-5 (naval aviation) programs may also call on Lt. Fry, Lt. F. W. MacBarron Friday through Monday at Lowell House C-12, where they will be available for interviews.
