Seniors May Now File Applications For Commissions in Naval Reserve

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

College seniors may apply 60 days before graduation for Naval Reserve commissions in the General Line and Supply Corps, the Boston Recruiting Station has announced.

To be eligible for commission a senior must be 19 to 26 years of age and classified 1-A, or eligible for such classification. The curriculum of General Line candidates must include 12 hours of mathematics and six hours of physics, while Supply Corps applicants must have a minimum of 45 semester hours in Economics or Textile Engineering subjects.

The Naval Air Cadet Program, for which single men, 18 to 26, with two years of college are eligible, has been discontinued until March or April. However, those who have not taken their pre-induction physicals may now make their applications and take the preliminary steps for NAVCAD.
