Mrs. Mary C. Bridges, late Boston socialite, died by drowning, the Department of Legal Medicine revealed last night. After a complete autopsy, pathologists found that the injuries she suffered before death did not kill her.
Mrs. Bridges' body was found floating in Lynn Harbor two weeks ago. Police had no leads to the cause of death other than marks found on her body. They called in the Department of Legal Medicine immediately.
Although Mrs. Bridges drowned, police think it unlikely that it was accidental, as she was an excellent swimmer. Her family testified that she had no reason they knew of to commit suicide.
Police still have no murder suspect.
