University Lobby Paid to Fight Bill

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University is the only educational institution in the state that employed a lobbyist last year, according to a list of lobbyists published yesterday in the Boston Daily Globe.

The Globe asserted that the University paid a Frank W. Crocker $50 for his services at the state legislature in connection with last year's legislation of the special commission to curb Communism.

All lobbyists were required by law to file a report with Secretary of State Edward J. Oronin of their year's activities by 5 p.m., December 18. Lobbyists were paid a total of $240,000 during the year, the article disclosed.
