4th Career Talk to Be on Industry; Mather Labels Mullins as Inaccurate

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Kirtlcy F. Mather, professor of Geology, claimed today that he had been misquoted at least four times by Boston Horald columnist W. E. Mullins in the latter's Friday column.

In a two-page letter to Mullins, Mather denied that he had questioned the authority of the House Committee on Un-American Activities or other Congressional committees in his recent speech at the Boston Community Church Center. Mather said he had criticized the committee's methods, but did not question its legality.

Mather added that after a debate with Representative Donian, he was even "more convinced than before that it is not wise, nor even proper, in a democracy for legislative committees to be established to investigate communism."
