Columbia, monopolizing the epee and saber divisions, defeated the varsity fencing squad at New York Saturday.

Jan Jertson and Steve Chandler led the Crimson in scoring with two wins each in scoring with two wins each in foils. Johnny Hamel's victory also helped the fencers take the foil division 5 to 4.

Columbia, however, reigned supreme in the other two divisions, epee and saber, with eight wins and one loss in each. The Light Blue is generally considered to be the strongest team in the league.

George McNair and Harry Zeil were the only other Crimson fencers who scored. McNair won one of his three epee matches and zeil won one of his three saber matches.
