Larry Brownell pulled the squash upset of the year yesterday, eliminating Art Potter, Navy's third-seeded entry in the National Intercollegiate Singles Tournament at West Point.
Charlie Ufford, defending champion, drew a first-round bye and easily disposed of Wesleyan's Bill Falcon in the second. His scores: 15-5, 15-5, 15-7.
Brownell, who played most of the season in the fourth position for the Crimson, moving up to third only recently, had been conceded little chance to get by yesterday's opening rounds. He defeated Potter 15-7, 16-18, 13-15, 15-9.
