A committee of Campus Americans for Democratic Action is drawing up a pamphlet which will be "instrumental" in formulating ADA policy on the draft, Frederic Freilicher '60, national chairman of Campus ADA and general editor of the report, announced last night.
Freilicher characterized the pamphlet as an "impartial and comprehensive study" that will be "mainly educative and advisory rather than an attempt to force a policy on ADA." An ADA committee on national defense will consider the report in determining its stand on the draft.
All local chapters of ADA and Campus ADA will also receive copies of the 35-page pamphlet, to be used as a basis for group discussion.
In addition to describing the past history of the draft, the report will discuss the recently extended Selective Service statute and its passage in Congress. Suggestions and criticism by various organizations and individuals will also be included, Freilicher noted.
