Harvard has decided to renovate Sever Hall after a State Safety inspection revealed classrooms in the building to be "unsafe and hazardous."
Cecil A. Roberts, Director of Planning, said yesterday that Sever's interior is scheduled to be completely remodeled next spring. Architects will be chosen this week.
Harvard and Lowell Lecture Halls were also singled out by Roberts as needing immediate repair.
Ceilings in Sever, which have twice collapsed, have been replastered, and the classrooms closed by State inspectors earlier this month are now open.
