Fencers Triumph Over M.I.T., 17-10

Sophomore superstars Larry Cetrulo and Tom Keller led Harvard's varsity fencing team to its third straight victory yesterday, a 17-10 win over M.I.T. in the IAB.

Keller and Cetrulo got help from foil-man San Fotus, sabreman Ron Winfield and epee Geza Tetrayllay in registering the Crimson's victory. Winfield lost his first bout of the season against sophomore Wally Jones, M.I.T.'s top sabre-man. Cetrulo, however, beat Jones, 5-4, after being down, 4-2.

Keller had little trouble breezing through his bouts, 5-3, 5-4, and 5-0. But surprising help came from his fellow foilmen Sam Fouts and Cliff Ruderman, who won four out of their six matches.

Epee Weak

The epee squad was the weakest, with only sophomore Tetrayllay winning two out of three bouts. Harvard's first epee, Bill Theodore, was surprised by a strong Tech squad and lost two bouts, 5-4 and 5-2, after winning his first match 5-4.

Cetrulo and Keller looked as if they were in another league last night, but it will take more than these two to beat C.C.N.Y. Saturday in the IAB.

The powerful New Yorkers have depth as well as class on their squad, and the meet will be the first real test of Harvard's highly-touted swordsmen.

The freshman fencing team won its opening meet yesterday, beating the M.I.T. freshmen, 16-11.
