The Connecticut primary has been postponed from tomorrow until Wednesday because of the death of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Governor John Dempsey announced yesterday.
The announcement came after three days of virtually no campaigning in the 30 contested town primaries. McCarthy workers stopped their canvassing immediately after they got word of King's death, and have no plans for any activity until the day of the primaries.
The local primaries are to choose delegates to the state convention which will in turn choose the national delegation for Chicago The majority of state delegates have already been chosen, but in 30 towns McCarthy forces have put up rival slates
