A protested intramural soccer game between Adams House and Quincy House may be instrumental in deciding the House league title.
In the game-played two weeks ago-Quincy was caught with 12 men on the field, one more than the limit. A penalty kick was subsequently awarded and Adams' Tom Southwick converted for a supposed 2-1 Adams victory.
Sometime after the game it was discovered the proper penalty for the violation is an indirect kick, not a penalty shot. The next day Quincy filed a formal protest with Floyd Wilson, director of Intramural Athletics. Four days after the contest the Adams squad was notified of the protest.
The protest was dismissed when an inspection of the rule book revealed that a valid protest must be lodged with the referee while the game is in progress. Quincy feels the game was vital as they figured to tie for the title without the loss.
However, Quincy's Chico Aquino said, "It's still up in the air-I am going to appeal to the Master's office and possibly the University's athletic board."
